Dr Lewis Liew's Experience

Dr. Lewis Liew graduated in 1992 from University of Sheffield, UK and went on to complete his basic surgical training in the United Kingdom. He obtained his fellowship, from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1997. He then joined the Advanced Urological Training Program at National University Hospital, Singapore in 1998 and completed his specialist training in 2002. He is Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore as well as Fellow of Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh.

Dr. Liew spent a year as Clinical Fellow in Endourology and Laparoscopy under the mentorship of Dr. Adrian Joyce, at St. James’ University Hospital, Leeds in UK. Since returning, he has set up a comprehensive laparoscopic program in National University Hospital and performed various innovative laparocopic urological surgeries including renal cyst decortication, revision of peritoneal dialysis catheter, ureterolithotomy, Boari flap reimplantation of ureter, nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy and pyeloplasty. He has been involved as faculty in numerous laparoscopic courses and workshops.

Dr Liew is a life member of the Singapore Urological Association and has been the EXCO of the Singapore Urological Association for three years.
